Continental, Remembrance Films Announce Marketing Alliance

3/12/2002

JONESBORO, Ark.—Continental Computer Corp. today announced it will offer Remembrance Films videos to funeral directors and families through Continental’s industry-leading management software for funeral homes and through the National Obituary Archive.

Continental, maker of The Director’s Assistant Millennium Edition, said Remembrance Films videos are a valuable product for funeral directors that provide an easy and attractive way for families to remember and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.

The video offering is made possible by a marketing agreement signed recently by Continental Computer Corp. and MyMotionPictures, Inc., parent of Remembrance Films.

Remembrance Films has developed simple, director-friendly software that enables funeral directors to collect, scan and transmit 15 or more family photos that are then custom produced into a tasteful video with music of the family’s choice and returned to the funeral home in 24 hours for presentation to the family. Similar software will be incorporated into The Director’s Assistant Millennium Edition and on the National Obituary Archive Web site to make the process even easier for busy funeral directors.

“We are excited about giving funeral directors another way to personalize funeral service and offer families a way to safeguard and share their memories,” said Dr. Michael Fullington, CEO of Continental. “Remembrance Films videos, available in VHS or DVD format, provide top quality for families.”
Funeral directors using current versions of The Director’s Assistant already have the ability to upload obituaries and photos directly to the National Obituary Archive, where friends and relatives anywhere can see them at www.NationalObituaryArchive.com or America Online Keyword: obituary.
Funeral directors across North America serve as Contributing Members to the project and use The Director’s Assistant to post obituaries on their own Web sites as well as in the national archive. The new product extends Continental’s strategy of enabling funeral homes to personalize service by encouraging families to preserve the cherished memories of their loved ones.

Continental Computer Corp. is the world’s leading developer of software for managing funerals and funeral homes. More than 5,000 funeral homes in the United States use the company’s flagship product, The Director’s Assistant. Software magazine has consistently ranked Continental one of the top 500 software companies in the world.
