Died peacefully at his home in Tucson, AZ, Wednesday morning, November 18, 2009, survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Malnekoff Resnick; four children, William of Portland, OR, Dr. Lawrence of Los Angeles, CA, Dr. Ronald of Maui, HI, and Rachelle of San Francsco, CA; grandchildren in Los Angeles and San Francisco; and two step children, Jon Malnekoff of San Clemente, CA, and Diane Malnekoff of Santa Rosa, CA.
Victor was born Sept. 15th, 1911, and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Graduating from the University of Wisconsin, he became a Certified Public Accountant, and worked for the State of Wisconsin as an auditor before joining the family business as a managing director of the National Avenue Laundry that then became the Polly Prim Laundries.
Two years after Victor`s first wife Sara Stein Resnick, passed away in 1970, after 35 years of marriage, he married Patricia Resnick, and moved to Tucson AZ to join his brother Sol Resnick.
Victor was a devoted husband and father, to his family and the families of his second wife Patricia. A serious hard working man and traditional breadwinner in his youth and working years, he adjusted to new cultural norms through late century, and ultimately became quite expert at many vital domestic tasks including telling family stories.
He was a devoted member of Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue in Milwaukee, WI and then Temple Emanuel in Tucson, AZ. He was great supporter of Israel, the Desert Caucus, and a lifetime member of B`nai B`rith. He and Patricia built a strong and formidable partnership in marriage and at the bridge table, entering local and national tournaments with much success.
Funeral services 2:00 PM Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Congregation Emanu-El B`ne Jeshurun, 2020 W. Brown Deer Rd., River Hills. Burial will be at Mound Zion Cemetery, 14510 W. North Ave., Brookfield.
Following the service, the family will receive friends Sunday only at the Janet Resnick residence, 7125 N. Lombardy Rd., Fox Point.
