Flora Spain Claytor, 99, of Colonial Heights, was called home Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Riverview on the Appomattox. Born, June 1908, she was the last of 10 children. Mrs. Claytor, was the daughter of the late Joseph William and Mary Jane Fore Irvin and the widow of Thomas B. Spain, Frank ReBarer, and William A. Claytor. She was a member of Colonial Heights Assembly of God. She was known not only for the love and care she gave to many children, but also for her beautiful quilts. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Ophelia Cogle and a grandson, Daniel Cogle. Mrs. Claytor is survived by a daughter, Helen Berry (Allen); a son, Bernard A. Spain (Libby); special son-in-law, Rudolph Cogle; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. A funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at the Colonial Heights Assembly of God, 16801 Harrowgate Road, Colonial Heights, with Pastor J. Paul Furrow and Reverend Thomas Cogle officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2007, from7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Colonial Heights Assembly of God.
