America Under Attack

In memory of those slain in the coordinated terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001

In Memoriam

Welcome to The National Obituary Archive™ memorial to those who perished in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center towers in New York, the U.S. military headquarters in the Pentagon and four commercial airliners that were hijacked for use in the attacks.

The lethal, coordinated assault on America’s pride and people left uncounted dead in the rubble-strewn streets of lower Manhattan, where rescue workers risked and in some cases lost their own lives in a desperate search for survivors. There was little hope of finding people still alive in the wreckage at the Pentagon and a crash site in western Pennsylvania, where one of the jets plunged to earth.

The National Obituary Archive™, the world’s largest repository of obituaries and death records, began posting the names of the dead as
soon as the first victims were identified. More names are added as authorities confirm them. If you are awaiting word about one or more individuals, you may register the name or names in our Obituary Alert section, and we will notify you by e-mail if we receive confirmation that the person was among the victims.

Visitors to the site are welcome to sign a general Guestbook at the memorial or post a lasting Tribute to the dead. Individual Guestbooks also are available for friends and relatives who can look up any name by entering it in the search box on this page. Tributes remain linked to the name of the deceased or to the Memorial itself for one year and are renewable indefinitely. All entries are reviewed by our staff for appropriateness before they are published on the site.
