"Ione J. Cook, age 83, of Rhinelander, died on Tuesday, November 28, 2006. She was born on January 23, 1923 in Phlox, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Della (King) Huybers. She married her husband, Arthur on August 28, 1940. Ione was employed as a nurse`s aide at Friendly Village and St. Mary`s Hospital prior to retirement. She was a member of the St. Mary`s Parish Women`s Club and the Rhinelander Auto Club since 1966. She enjoyed her time spent as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She was a skilled seamstress who also enjoyed flowers and gardening.

She is survived by her sons; Ronald (Dawn) of Lake Tomahawk and Dennis (Kathryn) of Appleton; her daughter, Joan (Richard) Newman of Rhinelander; her nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter, Karen Renn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Nativity of Our Lord Parish - St. Mary`s Catholic Church with Father John Gerritts officiating. Interment will follow in Northland Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. A memorial has been established in her name.
