Helen Worth Rodgers, 73 of 674 Mt. Torrey Road, Lyndhurst passed away Friday morning, August 5, 2005 at Augusta Medical Center. She was born June 11, 1932 in Waynesboro, daughter of the late Walter A. and Ethel Harner Worth. Helen was retired as a licensing examiner at the Division of Motor Vehicles, a member of the Sherlynd Baptist Church, one of the original organizers of the Waynesboro Police Reserves, a member of the AARP, and a former member of the FOP and was a former Waynesboro School Crossing Guard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Rodgers in 1972, one sister, Ruth Worth Ryder, two brothers, Walter J. Worth and Charles E. Worth and a son, Staten A. Morris. Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia A. Henderson and her husband Darrell; one son, Richard W. Morris and his wife, Denice; one grandson, beloved and adored Travis James Henderson; one sister, Ora Mae Crump; one niece, Julie Ryder, and one nephew, Robert Ryder, Jr. She is also survived by special friends, Wanda Harlow, Harriett Arnold, Margaret Watson, Jan Marks, Cindy Banks, Sandy Northedge and Carol Kratzer whom she loved dearly. A service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service by Pastor Leroy William. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Bruce Allen, Greg Mabry, Charles P. Henderson, Jr., Charles P. Henderson, Sr., David Northedge and Jerry Harlow. The family will receive friends 7 to 8 P.M.
