Diana Lynn Lane, 60, of 804 Sherman Drive, Marion, Illinois, formerly of Royalton, died at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Diana was born February 16, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry Fred and Dolores A. (Luczak) Schneider. She married Glen H. Lane September 16, 1967 in Lombard, Illinois. He preceded her in death October 23, 1972. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Shari Lane of Carrier Mills, Pete and Julie Lane of Goreville; three grandchildren, Glen, Cameron and Lauren Lane all of Goreville; a sister, Sharon P. Schneider of Royalton; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Gail Schneider of Chicago; a nephew, Kyle Schneider of Chicago; her step-father, Walter Maleski of Royalton and a step-brother and his wife, Robert and Diane Maleski of Kings Port, Tennessee. Diana was a member of the Christ View Christian Church in Christopher where she was in the church choir and had taught Sunday school. She was Certified Nurses Aid who had worked in home health care until her illness. Funeral services for Mrs. Lane will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at the Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elm Hurst, Illinois. Visiting hours are from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2004 at Vantrease Funeral Home in Royalton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Lane may be made American Diabetes Association, for research.
