If the family has not designated a specific charity but you would like to give the family the choice of a recipient, you may send a Charitygift card that can be used to select a gift recipient. It works very much like a store gift certificate, except the family doesn't have to go anywhere to make its selection. The designation may be made using the Internet or by a toll-free telephone call to Charitygift.com.

The family will receive a gold card in the mail that can be folded into a displayable box with information about your contribution and how to redeem the card by selecting a charity. A small service fee will be added to cover the costs of the credit card transaction, funds transfer, notifying the family and sending you a receipt for tax purposes.
