Philip C. Gomes, 47, of Plymouth, MA, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 after losing the battle to lung cancer. He was the husband of Laura (Reynolds) Gomes, to whom he was married to for 25 years. Born in New Bedford, May 16, 1958, he was the son of Aderito Gomes of Plymouth and the late Adelaide (Faria) Gomes. He was the son-in-law of Morris and Laurette Reynolds of Plymouth. He was a graduate of Plymouth Carver High School, class of 1976. Mr. Gomes worked at the Woods Hole Steamship Authority. He enjoyed playing music, camping and spending time with his family. In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by his five children, Julianne, Krista, Philip Jr., Alison and Peter Gomes of Plymouth; two sisters, Diana Gomes of Plymouth and Elisabeth Gomes of Onset and many other relatives. Calling Hours will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2006 from 4 to 8 PM in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 10 AM in St. Margaret`s Catholic Church, 141 Main Street, Buzzards Bay. Burial will follow in Oakland Grove Cemetery, Bourne.
