Doris Ann Rosenberger

Doris Ann Rosenberger was born on Saturday, May 13, 1939, in Pettis County, Missouri. She was the daughter of Edward and Lillian Moore. Doris lived in Baldwin City, Kansas for fifteen years prior to moving to Ottawa, Kansas three years ago, where she made her home until her death on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the age of sixty-nine years.

Doris graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas, in the late 1950’s.

She was a Cosmetologist in the Lawrence, Kansas area in the 1980’s and 1990’s. In the 1960’s, she was a healthcare provider for nursing homes.

She was a member of Baldwin City Assembly of God Church.

Doris enjoyed sewing and reading and also watching lifetime and sitcom television. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was spending time with her family and grandchildren and caring for her dog, “Sissy”.

In 1956, Doris was united in marriage with Bertie Black. He preceded her in death in 1970. In 1976, she was united in marriage with Tom Evans, who preceded her in death. In 1982, she was united in marriage with Bob Rosenberger. They later divorced.

Doris is survived by four sons, Vernon Black of Ottawa, Kansas, Stan Black and his wife, Chris, of Leavenworth, Kansas, Galen Black of Vassar, Kansas, Tom Evans of Lawrence, Kansas; two adopted daughters, Wanda Brannan and Della Luttrell, both of Ottawa, Kansas; six grandchildren and many adopted grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, Bertie Black and Tom Evans, Doris is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mel Moore; sister, Irene Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

IN STATE: Mrs. Rosenberger has been cremated. The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa, Kansas.
